The Klein Theatre Box Office will be closing at 4 pm today to allow our student staff to attend an all theatre student assembly. We will be back to our regularly scheduled hours, Monday - Friday, 10 am to 5 pm on Monday, August 31.

Thank you very much for your understanding as our Department Chair meets with our theatre students to take a look at the exciting year ahead!

We'll see you back at the Box Office on Monday!

Spooky season is coming, and one of our alums is stitching their way into the magic. ✨

Meet Layton Kuchinski—a 2008 UMW Theatre grad making waves in the industry. You might spot Layton's stitchwork in the iconic photos circulating for American Horror Story's return this fall. Layton worked as a full-time stitcher on DEATH BECOMES HER on Broadway, and is currently tailoring costumes for the touring production.

We are deeply saddened by the death of Dr. Chris Kilmartin, psychologist, scholar, professor, writer, and actor. Dr. Kilmartin helped us reinvigorate our musical theatre program as the Narrator in UMW Theatre's 1995 production of INTO THE WOODS. In 1998, he premiered his solo performance CRIMES AGAINST NATURE in Studio 115, launching a 220-performance tour across more than 120 college campuses in the United States and Canada. In 2008, Dr. Kilmartin took on the role of the Stage Manager in OUR TOWN, where he took our audience through the most cherished moments of life in the small town of Grover’s Corners—a performance that resonated throughout Klein Theatre. We will miss you, Chris. You became part of us, and part of us you'll always be.
