A prayer over our children for this morning 🙏⛪️
Heavenly Father, I ask that you place your angels around my children. Protect them wherever they go. Please help them make the right choices about the things they should and shouldn’t do. May they find comfort in knowing that your angels are with them to guide and protect them. In Jesus name, Amen.
God will order his angels to protect you wherever you go

Due to the winter storm that includes rain/snow mix with considerable accumulation, freezing temperatures, and slippery roads/surfaces, MHCA will be closed today, January 3, 2022. Stay safe.

It's already December and we are so excited about what we've been able to accomplish with our small staff since re-opening in September 2021, following the Academy's closure due to the COVID19 pandemic.
Last month, the students created crafts to include one that reflected what they were thankful for and they participated in a Thanksgiving Chapel Program. We deeply regret the parents could not attend due to COVID19 mitigation measures in place at the Academy and hope they, as well as other family, friends, and visitors to this page will appreciate their efforts and give them a "Like" for the video posted.
I'd like to share that I'm so thankful for the wonderful parents that entrust us with their precious children, the amazing small staff that gives unconditional love and care for all of the children as if they were their own as the instruct them daily in areas that enrich their spiritual, academic, social, and emotional development.
I'm thankful for the support of the Mount Hope Baptist Church staff that support us daily, especially Mr. Tom Bradley. Last but not least, I'm thankful for the faith and trust Pastor Bell and Academy Board Chairperson Mary Williams have placed in me to lead this wonderful Academy.
May God continue to Bless us all and thank you for taking the time to visit our page.

It was another great week at the Academy. We welcomed a new student in PreK-3 and in addition to instruction using the traditional curriculum, students participated in supplemental engaging activities. In the Spanish and World Cultures classes, the students reviewed colors and greetings in Spanish and learned about South America and the Caribbean, Carnival, and reggae music's influence on samba in South America respectively.
Additionally, the students and parents were challenged to read books and complete daily activities in recognition of Children's Book Week. The week culminated with the students and staff wearing their favorite book character, sharing a giant cookie with milk for a snack, and pizza for lunch on Friday.
We also completed The Candyman Inc. Fundraising event last week and we did quite well. Thanks to all the parents, current and former staff who put forth the effort to solicit orders and donations from family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers to make the fundraiser a success.
A lot was accomplished with our small but amazing staff last week and this week we'll have our Thanksgiving Program. Check this space for pictures and the video in about a week to see the amazing performance by the students!
Lastly, if you would like to volunteer or know anyone who would like to volunteer to support the Academy's After School Care Program, please contact me or the Assistant Director at 540-785-4631.
Thanks for visiting our page and share our link with your family and friends! Don't forget to like us and leave a comment.

Students enjoyed their visit to Belvedere for the Fall Festival. They rode the hayride, picked pumpkins, fed the goats, played games, and more. Special thanks to our wonderful parent chaperones for their assistance.

In keeping with the Fall Season, the Assistant Director created an awesome display about pumpkins for the weekly elective that included four stations, incorporating science, math, and sensory skills, and generating curiosity. In addition to traditional classwork to develop literacy, phonics, writing, and math skills, the students conducted their first Chapel service.

In World Cultures class, students have been learning about continents and the different modes of transportation used to travel between them. Students visited Shannon Air Museum this week to learn more about aviation. They had a great time learning about all of the historical airplanes.

Dear Mount Hope Christian Academy Family,
I am reaching out to you today to ask you to support the students of Mount Hope Christian Academy.
As you know, MHCA was closed during the 2020-2021 school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. From June 2020 to August 2021, the Academy underwent a restructuring process. MHCA began its school year on September 7 and we are off to a great start. We look forward to continuing to provide a reenergized program that supports students in their intellectual, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth.
To that end, MHCA is seeking new materials for the learning centers in each classroom. Learning centers are clearly defined areas in the classroom with a specific focus. Young children learn best through active hands-on play, making learning centers vital. Center time has a number of benefits, including aiding the development of language, cognition, social competence, and self-regulation. Each classroom currently offers Literacy, Discovery (Math & Science), Art, and Pretend Play centers. All donations will go towards funding materials for these areas.
Donations can be made on MHCA’s Givelify account (linked below). Your donation, big or small, will help us purchase the resources our students deserve so they can have a successful school year. We have also created an Amazon Wishlist (linked below) if you would prefer to make a direct purchase.
Thank you in advance for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Briana Young
Assistant Director

For the first two weeks, the students learned about rules and procedures and last week they began their classroom routines and went on their first library trip.
We have loving and patient teachers and an Assistant Director with unmatched creativity and ideas for supplemental activities to enhance the curriculum.
We have great students and great parents in the Academic, as well as the After School Care Program, and we're looking forward to watching our little people grow spiritually, intellectually, socially, and emotionally over this academic school year.
Pray for our success and share this post with family and friends. Peace and Blessings!
