Our primary concern is the kind of student each child is becoming, not the mastery of particular data or technique, for we are confident that the student who masters the art of learning will attain his full potential for mastering data and technique. The student who masters the art of relating well to God, self, others, ideas, and creation will attain the fullness of life for which she was created. We begin with the conviction that the fullness of God’s plan for humanity is revealed in the person of Jesus Christ. He is both the example and the source of living a full and free life. The commandments to love God and to love one another are fundamental in the outworking of a fully human life.

Did you know that September 5, 2025, marks the 25th anniversary of the 1st Day of Ambleside School of Fredericksburg?

In celebration, Ambleside will host a Community Open House
Saturday, September 6th at 4pm.

The 10th and 11th grade art class will present a tableau vivant of Johannes Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring at Starry Night on Friday, April 25!

Tableau vivant, from the French for ‘living picture,’ combines aspects of a theatrical performance with painting, lighting, set, costume, and sometimes even sound. In a tableau vivant, costumed models are carefully posed and remain still and silent while recreating scenes from literature, paintings, and sculpture. Until the rise of film and television, it remained an extremely popular form of entertainment with often highly elaborate sets and costumes.

See some behind the scenes student work and the original painting here. And make sure to see this unique piece of interactive performance art and experience a 'living picture' offered by the 10th and 11th grade students at Starry Night.

Consider making a donation to support Ambleside Student Scholarships now. Donations of $50 and above can choose to receive a 5x7” student reproduction of the painting, matted to 8x10” and offered in graphite, colored pencil, or screen print.

Check it out! 📚 Late Night in the Living Library and Star Party 🔭 is TONIGHT at Ambleside. This is a come and go event for children and parents from 6 - 8:30 p.m. Explore the bookshelves for new additions and old favorites. Join in library activities like a scavenger hunt and then step outside to view the moon through a local astronomer's telescope. We'll also have hot cocoa and popcorn! ☕🍿

The Hill Country Astronomers have confirmed, the moon will begin to be visible by 7:30 p.m. or even a bit earlier. Feel free to stay until 8:30 p.m. to continue viewing and enjoying the evening.
