Day 2 at Rockets 2026 Smith Point was an overcast one. We were able to get 3 rockets off the rail and overcome some livestream hiccups. Fingers crossed the skies favor us today. We will try to launch all the rockets from yesterday and the 12 scheduled for today.

It’s the last stop and last weekend of the Texas Rocket Trail. Overcast with low cloud at Smith Point. We’ve got 3 rockets ready and 1 being prepped. Hardin Jefferson and Anahuac are ready for flight. Now if we could get the clouds to depart.

We launched 39 rockets yesterday as we wrapped up Rockets 2026 Stonewall. This week it’s off to Smith Point, the last stop on the Texas Rocket Trail. We even awarded the Capt Gene Garrett Scholarship.

Our volunteers didn’t test in the rain yesterday, instead they worked diligently to get every vehicle ready to launch. We have 40 vehicles to launch today! It’s not a record (that still stands at 44), but it’s a bunch! Cool temps & blue skies!
