Meet Mrs. Jones! We are excited to introduce Mrs. Jones who serves HCA as our preschool 3s teacher. She brings a heart for children, a love for learning, and a desire to help students grow academically, spiritually, and personally.

Her heart for children extends beyond the classroom. Through various mission trips, she has worked with students of all ages who have experienced trauma, abuse, neglect, foster care, loss, and grief.

Outside of school, she is an active singer on her church worship team, a photographer, and a wife and mother of two young children. She will celebrate seven years of marriage this year!

We are deeply grateful for the faithful women of Highway Christian Academy who came alongside us in prayer as we began a new school year.

They walked our halls, met our teachers, and prayed with entire classes covering every student, family, classroom, and staff member in God’s peace, wisdom, protection, and purpose.

What a beautiful reminder that our school is supported by a community that believes in the power of prayer. We are thankful for these women of faith and for the blessing they have poured into HCA as we begin this year together.

We are pleased to introduce a new addition to the Highway Christian Academy team, Ms. Kamran! Ms. Kamran will be teaching our Multiage Primary class with our kindergarten and first grade age students. We are excited to have her join our school family this year.

Here is a message from Ms. Kamran:

“I am so thrilled to officially join the Highway Christian Academy family this year! This marks my very first year of teaching, and I couldn't be more excited to start this journey with your children.

A little bit about me: I am originally from the Fairfax area and recently moved here to pour my heart into this community. Professionally, I have a deep passion for understanding the child brain and behavioral development. To me, watching a child learn, grow, and overcome challenges isn’t just science—it is a front-row seat to God's incredible craftsmanship. I truly see His hand and design in the unique way every child develops and discovers the world around them.

I am looking forward to a wonderful, faith-filled school year ahead!”

Someone rescue the principal—there’s an Oreo in the building, and it’s definitely not edible… it’s a rat!

Meet Oreo, the second-grade class pet: small, furry, and a little mischievous. While he may cause a few giggles and snack-time confusion (for the principal), Oreo is helping our students learn responsibility, kindness, and how to care for God’s creatures.

Please join us in welcoming Mr. Izquierdo to our Multiage Intermediate Classroom! A California native with six years of teaching experience, Mr. Izquierdo brings a love of learning, especially history, and a passion for helping students grow.

This year, he will guide our intermediate students as they explore physics, discover our great big world, strengthen their English skills, and build confidence in math. Our students tell us he makes them laugh a lot! We are excited for the knowledge, curiosity, and encouragement he will bring to the classroom!

🎒✨ First day jitters are so real and totally normal, even for llamas! Our preschoolers and kindergarteners begin school on August 10th, and we know that first step through the classroom door can feel a little scary.

To help ease those nerves, we're sharing a read-aloud of Llama Llama Misses Mama, a sweet story about a little llama navigating his own first day of school and learning that those "missing mama" feelings don't last forever. 🦙💛 Grab your little one, snuggle up, and watch together before the big day!

We understand this is a strong word, but it is one that we work through with your littles at school as it is an emotion that is expressed.

Butterflies, a few tears at drop-off, or even a case of the "I don't want to go", it's all part of growing up, and we're here to help make the transition smoother for both kids and parents. We can't wait to welcome our newest students on August 10th! 🍎📚

It was a day of new beginnings at Highway Christian Academy as we welcomed our teachers back to campus!

Highway Christian Academy is thrilled to introduce Mrs. Jolie Thorpe to our community as our 2nd grade teacher! 🎉

Mrs. Thorpe is a dedicated, Christ-centered educator with many years of experience teaching preschool and elementary students in Christian schools. She is known for her creative, hands-on lessons, strong classroom management, and thoughtful use of technology to make learning engaging and fun. Former parents and administrators consistently describe her as passionate about both academic excellence and spiritual growth, with a heart that truly loves and serves her students.

We are grateful that God has led Mrs. Thorpe to Highway Christian Academy and look forward to the impact she will have on our students and families this year! 💙📚✝️
