On behalf of our Worshipful Master, Worshipful John Parrish:

Brethren, please take due notice thereof and attend on our final duty to our cherished Brother, Right Worshipful Richard Joseph Fisher.

Let us remember that while he was the District Deputy Grand Master to the 8th Masonic District in Virginia, he was also the Senior Warden to our Lodge. Please join us. Thank you

Cincinnatus and George Washington. These two men are the embodiment of civic virtue and are the exemplars for any society.

Name two things similar in their statues and why?

Brother Franklin Delano Roosevelt was initiated into Freemasonry in 1911 in Holland Lodge #8 in New York City.

He went on to become President of the United States and became friends with a Masonic Brother from across the pond—Winston Churchill—and together they fought Na**sm during World War II. Churchill was initiated into Freemasonry in 1901 in Studholme Lodge No. 1591 in London, England.

Upon Roosevelt's death, his Vice President Harry Truman, a Masonic Grand Master, continued the fight to end that global tyranny. Truman was initiated into Freemasonry in 1909 in Belton Lodge #450 of Belton, Missouri.

My brethren, if you have never been to a Research Lodge, please take the time to come visit us. You are welcome to join us for our Stated Meeting on Saturday, December 02, 2023 at 11:00 am.

During our fellowship, we will have a short homecoming ceremony for our new DDGM for his first visit, along with an election and installation officers, as we prepare for new leadership (and new vision and direction) for the pending new year.

As Master Masons, you are always welcomed to your Research Lodge here in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Come join us.

The Rising Sun Tavern at 1304-1306 Caroline Street, Fredericksburg, Virginia. Built as a home in 1760 by George Washington’s youngest brother, Charles, it was eventually sold to Colonel and Masonic Brother Gustavus Wallace, who turned it into a Tavern in 1792.

Just before moving into the Lodge building they now own, it was here at this tavern where Fredericksburg Masons would often hold meetings and special ceremonies.

Known as the Rising Sun Tavern since the 20th century, it was previously known as the Golden Eagle Tavern.
