Today marks the official last day of Little Grasshopper Academy and it simply doesn’t feel real. Little Grasshopper Academy has been a HUGE part of our lives for over a year now and is something we’ve worked endlessly on just about every day since taking this leap of faith.
Since announcing our closure, we have had SO many of our friends, school families and community members reach out with only the kindest of words, and I cannot express enough how much that means to me and my family. Closing a business is never something you want to do and it’s a very sad loss to go through.
Ultimately our closure came down to continued lack of staffing…It’s no secret that childcare is still a very big issue in our town and it’s going to take continued different approaches and more people opening up independent schools to help meet Fredericksburg’s demand while some of our local churches and nonprofits work hard to create larger solutions. What I ask from the community is that you give grace to these business owners, to the passionate risk-takers who are stepping up to do their best to create something for the community. More often than not there is a lot more to it than meets the eye. We HAVE to be a community that supports one another and lifts one another up. 🪴
Thank you to SO many of our families and members of the community who have been tremendous supporters of ours and y’all, there is no way we could have done this without you so truly, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!
Please, if you see us around the community, don’t be a stranger! Thank you for letting us be a part of this incredible community! We love Fred and we are excited for what this next chapter will bring! ☀️
