💙💛 Happy Community School Coordinator Week to our incredible Community School Coordinator, Mr. Weis, and his amazing team, Mrs. Perez and Mr. E! 💛💙

So many of the opportunities we are able to provide our students and families at Butterfly Ridge happen because Mr. Weis and his Community School Team work tirelessly behind the scenes to connect our school with the people, resources, and organizations that make them possible.

The Veggie Van bringing fresh food to our families. 🥕🥦
Fresh, clean laundry when a family needs a little extra support. 🧺
Thanksgiving meals that make sure our families can gather around a full table. 🦃
Holiday gifts that bring a little extra magic to our Blazers. 🎁
And even the incredible writing residency of our beloved Baba Bomani, giving our students experiences and memories they will carry with them long after they leave Butterfly Ridge. ✍️❤️

Did we mention haircuts and new shoes? Our besties that read to students from Key City Rotary Club? That’s him baby!!!

These things don’t just happen. They happen because Mr. Weis and his team believe that a school should be more than a place where children come to learn. It should be a place where families feel supported, connected, welcomed, and cared for.

As our Community School Coordinator, Mr. Weis plays an essential role in creating and coordinating these opportunities, and Mrs. Perez and Mr. E are incredible partners in making them possible. Together, they help ensure that our students and families have access to the support, resources, and experiences they need to thrive.

So much of what makes Butterfly Ridge a true community school is possible because of their dedication, relationships, teamwork, and heart for our families.

There are countless things they do that most people will never see, but our students and families feel the impact of their work every single day.

Mr. Weis, Mrs. Perez, and Mr. E, thank you for helping us take care of our Blazers not just as students, but as whole children and whole families. We are incredibly grateful for each of you.

The Butterfly Ridge Blazers did an AMAZING job at The Great Frederick Fair on opening night! 🎡🏅

Miss Fink and Miss Molly were incredibly proud of every student who worked so hard to create and submit an entry. Your creativity, dedication, and courage truly shined—and seeing your work displayed alongside entries from children across our community made the evening even more special.

Way to represent Butterfly Ridge! We are so proud of our talented Blazers! 💙🦋

💚💛 I’m the US in 💛💚

Every Friday, we’re celebrating the students, staff, families, and community members who help make Butterfly Ridge a special place to learn, grow, and belong.

Whether it’s helping a classmate, supporting students, leading something positive, lending a hand, or simply making someone’s day better, these are the people who put the “US” in .

This week, we’re recognizing:

💚 DIBS Society
A huge thank-you to the DIBS Society for supporting our Blessings in a Backpack program every Thursday. Their time, consistency, and hard work help us make sure food gets organized and distributed to our students each week. We are incredibly grateful for their partnership!

💛 Ms. Fink
For the second year in a row, Ms. Fink worked with a group of students to create baked goods that will be entered into the Frederick Fair. Thank you for giving our students a fun opportunity to learn, create, and show off their talents beyond the classroom!

💚 Ms. Ventura
Ms. Ventura has done an amazing job leading the charge to get our Girls on the Run club up and running. Because of her work, our young ladies have another opportunity to exercise, build confidence, connect with one another, and learn together after school.

💛 Our Fifth Grade Helpers
A special shoutout to a group of our fifth grade boys who are helping with our lunchbox organization system this year. Each morning, they help greet students and organize lunchboxes into bins so everything is ready for the day. Thank you for stepping up and helping our school run smoothly!

🏆 Fall Attendance Cup Update — Tomorrow Matters! 🏆

The Fall Attendance Cup regular season is coming down to the wire!

We’ll be sharing the current standings for each grade, and several races are still very close. Tomorrow is a 2-hour early dismissal, but it is still an important school day — and in several grades, tomorrow’s attendance could help decide which classes qualify for the championship round.

Please make sure students are at school and ready to finish the week strong.

Every instructional day matters — even on early dismissal days.

The top two classes in each grade will advance to the Fall Attendance Cup Championship, which runs from September 22–30.

Let’s finish the regular season strong, BRES!

Did you know that handwashing is one of the easiest, cheapest, and most effective ways to
prevent the spread of germs?

Help us reinforce some of these helpful habits at home and school:
● Wash Hands: Lather up with soap and water for 20 seconds.
● Cover Up: Cover coughs and sneezes with an elbow or tissue.
● Stay Home: Rest at home when feeling under the weather to protect others.
