Frederick Community College Names Jack Schenzel Head Men’s Basketball Coach Frederick Community College has announced the hiring of Jack Schenzel as the new head coach of the Cougars men's basketball program.

Congratulations to baseball scholar-athletes Evan Hassinger, Ethan Duff, Vincenzo Cusat, Cole Swinimer, Luis Perez Alfaro, and Clayton Dorsey, for being selected to the Baseball DII All-Region Team, as voted on by regional head coaches!

baseball erased a four-run deficit and tied it in the 7th, but fell just short in a 5–4 walk-off loss to No. 7 Iowa Central in Game 13 of the NJCAA Division II World Series. After an early deficit, Matthew Calabrese was outstanding in relief, tossing 4.0 scoreless innings, allowing 5 hits and 2 strikeouts, to steady the game. Jacob Curtis added a scoreless inning, working around a walk to keep it tied late. Colin Milligan carried Frederick to the brink, holding Iowa Central scoreless into the ninth. Cole Swinimer reached base four times and scored twice, while Luis Perez Alfaro drove in two and Clayton Dorsey added a key RBI as Frederick battled back all afternoon. The Cougars were one out away from extra innings before the Tritons delivered in the bottom of the ninth. Frederick closes the 2026 season at 37–15, capturing back-to-back Region 20 and Mid-Atlantic District titles and making its 8th World Series appearance under head coach Rodney Bennett.
