Fi****ms Training Requirements May Soon Change!

As everyone knows, the Supreme Court decision is what has allowed for so many Marylanders to obtain a wear/carry permit, which sent some politicians into a frenzy to figure out how to stop it. Thankfully, Governor Hogan ordered the State Police to issue permits when the Attorney General failed to do so.

Yesterday we received an advisory notice from the Maryland State Police to notify all fi****ms instructors that House Bill 824 was passed and signed into law which, among other things, requires “The Secretary, in consultation with the Office of the Attorney General and the Department of Health, shall develop, publish, update, and distribute to all state-certified fi****ms instructors, a curriculum of instruction for the topics required for classroom instruction…”

MSP advised that the new curriculum will be published within approximately 30 days prior to October 1, 2023.

We have NO IDEA what this means, or why the current training requirements of 16 hours for a wear/carry permit are being revised, other than to deliberately make it more difficult for citizens to obtain. Since the most recent Maryland election, we have heard rumors of increasing the financial burden by doubling the fees to apply for a permit along with increasing the training to a 40 hour long course. One thing is for sure, there will be changes by October 2023, and are being made by entities from within the current State administration.

While we don't know what to expect with this new legislation, given the current political trend in Maryland we can only assume the burden placed on a citizen for all fi****ms licensing and permits, to include the HQL and Wear/Carry Permit, are likely to increase greatly.

SO GET YOUR PERMIT TRAINING ASAP!!!!

Shadow Hawk Defense Training Center. Great people, having a great time, at a great place and getting some excellent training.

HURRY and get your wear/carry permit before it becomes unreasonably difficult to obtain!!! There is currently a bill in the house that would DOUBLE the cost of state fees to obtain your permit! At the same time, the current legislation is debating whether or not to make it possible to charge someone under 25 years old with murder - should they commit the crime of murder. You can't make this stuff up.

Great MD Wear/Carry Class #2 of 2022!! Super fun group to work with, LOTS of smack talking among the competitive friends and family - we had a great time. Congrats to Cole Tribett as the class overall TOP SHOT winner! ..and congrats to Tyler Hill for a closer runner to class TOP SHOT. We had a great time, and hope to see you all again soon.
