Book Blast is coming to CVA.

Our mission begins Tuesday, April 7th, and we are excited to partner with Books Are Fun to put brand-new books into the hands of every student.

This program is designed to build excitement around reading while directly supporting our classrooms.

Here is why we are looking forward to it:

• Every student receives age-appropriate books
• Contributions go directly toward books and classroom resources
• The book selection is engaging, relevant, and student-focused

Students will also be bringing home their Treasure Map, which is the key to participating, earning prizes, and receiving books.

This is a great opportunity for families:

Every student can name that one teacher.

The one who helped them see things differently.
The one who encouraged them to try something new.
The one who reminded them that creativity has no single right answer.

At Carbon Valley Academy, many of those moments happen in Mrs. Cohara’s art class.

Through painting, drawing, and hands-on projects, our students learn how creativity can turn simple ideas into something powerful. Art challenges them to think differently, try new approaches, and express their unique perspective.

Even during Spring Break, creativity doesn’t stop. Whether it’s doodling in a notebook, building something from scratch, or trying a new craft, we encourage our students to keep exploring.

Art has a way of keeping us grounded, curious, and inspired. That’s a lesson that lasts far beyond the classroom.

Big thanks for a big day at CVA yesterday!

Our campus was buzzing with activity from morning to afternoon.

Students wrapped up the APEX Leadership Program with the Fun Run, and we are grateful to the many parents who volunteered to help count laps, run the water station, and cheer students on.

Meanwhile, our 7th grade students hosted their Probability Carnival, inviting the rest of the school to play the games they designed as part of their math unit. Students tested theoretical probability vs. experimental results while their classmates tried their luck and earned a little Carbon Cash along the way.

We also enjoyed spending time with families during Coffee & Donuts with K–2 families, which is always a great opportunity to spend time together as a community.

Days like this highlight what makes CVA special: strong academics, engaged families, and students learning in creative, hands-on ways.

Thank you to our volunteers, families, staff, and students who made it such a great day.

CVA's APEX Fun Run is tomorrow. We still need a few parent volunteers.

As part of our APEX Leadership Program and school fundraiser, students will take part in the APEX Fun Run on Thursday. It is one of the most exciting events of the program, and we are looking for a few more parents to help make it a great experience for everyone.

The APEX team is hoping for 8–10 volunteers per session, and there is still time to sign up to help count laps and assist at the water station while students run.

At Carbon Valley Academy, one of those teachers for many of our middle school students is Mr. Rick Schineller.

If you have met him, you know the look — the bright colors to match the personality, the legendary beard, and the kind of enthusiasm that makes science and social studies feel like an adventure instead of a lecture.
