Out with the old, in with the new! 🧸✨ Join us for a morning of community, sustainable play, and caffeine at our upcoming Toy Swap.
It’s the perfect chance to clear out the playroom and let your kids pick out "new" treasures while supporting a great cause. Proceeds from this event will go directly to supporting the Circle of Life Cooperative.
The Details
Where: Crybaby Cafe, Middletown
When: Saturday, April 11
Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
How it Works
Declutter: Bring no more than 5 clean, gently used toys (please, no stuffed animals!).
Swap: Trade your items for tickets to "shop" the swap.
Grab a latte, let the kids find something "new" to them, and help us support CLC. See you there! ☕️🧩

No. Such. Thing.
The problems that children face are, at their core, no different than our own. Someone is hungry, someone is tired, has had a long day, feels like they're lost of control of a situation, world feels unfair...
Our negative reactions, which may look different on the surface, are really not much different either. They look like being short with strangers, lashing out at the people we love (because they won't leave us), limited patience, withdrawing, complaints, etc.
As an educator the best solution to repeated struggles is to build, then grow, the relationship. In those hard moments a child doesn't want to work with someone who they feel doesn't care about them. In the same way a firefighter goes toward the fire in order to extinguish it, the most effective adults go toward those struggles. They build as deep and as meaningful of a relationship as they can with that child, because that's the foundation for any other supports. If you are an adult with children in your life, the same is true for you. 💚

Birthdays are such a big deal when you've only had a few of them! At CLC we love celebrating birthdays, and Ms. Sarah has gotten a lot of practice adding birthday candles to snacks🎉

I love this picture. None of us knows what is in store for us, what the universe will send us - but worrying is wasted energy unless it provides us with additional choices. What we do have control over is ourselves - our actions, our words, our values, and our attitudes. We do not ask our littles to be the solvers of big problems. Instead, we remind them that we use our values as our north star, and we speak, act, and believe in them regardless of the situation at hand.

Okay, so our snow looks way less pristine now, but we have been loving it!
