New FCFR paramedics completing the PHTLS course this week. Prehospital Trauma Life Support is a 16 hour class emphasizing the pathophysiology of injuries and dives in depth into assessment and treatment of injuries. In this post, you will see our paramedics working on pediatric assessment and airway management, and application of a pelvic binder. This class is a requirement for our paramedics including other specific courses.

RIT. As a critical and labor intensive task, rapid intervention operations require strict team work, problem solving, and mental toughness, especially when rescuing one of your own. This afternoon, 23A members drilled on a face piece swap for a down firefighter, then extricating them through a simulated basement window.

Last night, we graduated 13 new paramedics from the Frederick County Fire/Rescue Training Academy. These 13 dedicated paramedics put in just about a year of work including classroom time, countless hours of medic unit time, hospital time and studying at home. We’d like to thank the instructors for their dedication as well as , .health, , Medical Center for their partnerships. Congratulations Paramedic Class 7!
