Prospective Parent Night – Tomorrow!

Curious about Montessori education? Join us for a Prospective Parent Night tomorrow, Tuesday, February 10 at 6:00 pm to learn more about our public charter Montessori school serving PreK–8th grade.

Get a glimpse into the Montessori experience where students learn through hands-on materials, mixed-age communities, and meaningful, child-centered work. Families will have the opportunity to tour, meet staff and current parents, and ask questions about our program. We’d love to welcome you!

No registration is required to attend the Prospective Parent Night and attendance is voluntary— it has no bearing on lottery status.

FCPS has finalized the school calendar:

✔️ Last day for students – June 12 (2-hour early dismissal)
✔️ Friday, June 6 – now a FULL DAY of school

Now that the weather is warming, we are most likely past potential inclement weather closures for the 2024-25 school year.

Thus, we can announce Thursday, June 12, is the last day of school for students in the 2024-25 school year. Schools will close 2-hours early for students on Thursday, June 12.

FCPS closed schools for four days this year due to inclement weather:

Monday, January 6
Tuesday, January 7
Thursday, February 6
Wednesday, February 12

Those closure dates make Monday, June 9, Tuesday, June 10, Wednesday, June 11, and Thursday, June 12 inclement weather make-up days to ensure FCPS completes 180 days of instruction as mandated by the Maryland State Department of Education.

The print calendar handbook sent home to families lists Friday, June 6, as a 2-hour early dismissal date. With these adjustments to the calendar, there is no longer a 2-hour early dismissal on Friday, June 6.

Friday, June 6 will now be a full-day of instruction for students.

The last day of school for teachers is Friday, June 13. 10-month staff with questions about their last day should contact their supervisors.
