First opened in 1960. additions/ renovations occurred in 1965 and 1975. In 2006, the Urbana Regional Library and Senior Center opened on Amelung Street.
The original Urbana community has been somewhat overshadowed by new developments, the Villages of Urbana and the Urbana Highlands. These developments (begun in 1999) have swelled Urbana's population and put strain on the community, especially the school system, the police force, and utilities. The facility is three floors and over 25,000 square feet (2,300 m2). Urbana has some of the best ratings

Before I post pictures, I want to post a disclaimer first:
I am NOT Urbana Elementary School. I am a mother of a student at UES. I know that parents were required to sign slips stating whether or not their child(ren) were allowed to be photographed. I do not have access to that kind of information. Please know that if I post a photo that you do not like, PLEASE, comment on the photo that you would like to have removed and I will remove it ASAP!! I assure you it is NOT my intentions to upset anybody. It IS however my intentions to share photos of moments that not all parents were able to share in with their child(ren).
