Today, Co-Executive Director, Tracy Hickman and Board of Trustees member, Michele Corr, had the opportunity to attend Ash Wednesday Mass at Mother Seton School celebrated by Fr. Harry Arnone and Deacon Chris Cosentino. It’s always so good to see their principal, Kathy Kilty, vice-principal, Lexi Burns, Director of Advancement, Jennifer Buchheister and their whole community. There was something incredibly powerful about beginning the Lenten season surrounded by students, teachers, staff and families that were all pausing together for reflection, prayer and renewal. Ash Wednesday calls us to slow down, to reflect on what truly matters and to recommit ourselves to compassion, humility and service. As we begin this Lenten journey, may we all find moments of grace, growth and gratitude as we love God, our neighbor and ourselves🙏

Friends of Catholic Education's Executive Directors, Tracy Hickman and Paula D'Amore, along with Vice President Cary Plamondon, and board members Tim O'Boyle, Toni Edwards and Fr John Williamson attended the Mass at St. John Regional Catholic School. The celebration concluded an extended Catholic Schools Week and included the recognition of Jessica Pease, the recipient of the Friends of Catholic Education Teaching Award of Excellence!

St John Regional Catholic School's 8th graders held a living rosary this morning, beautifully bringing the community together to pray and celebrate Catholic Schools Week!

Tracy Hickman, our Co- Executive Director of Community Engagement was honored to announce that Michael Giangrasso had been voted by the staff of Saint John’s Catholic Prep as their Friends of Catholic Education Teaching Award of Excellence recipient! The students and staff cheered for Mr. G as he was joined to receive the plaque by Friends’ Co-Executive Director of Business Operations Paula D’Amore, Board of Trustees members, Tim O’Boyle, Michele Corr, Toni Edwards and Fr. John Williamson and SJCP’s Head of School, Will Knotek. Congratulations!

Friends of Catholic Education hosted the 26th Annual Teacher Appreciation Dinner, but we didn’t pay for it! We thank the incredible sponsors and those that provided SO many door prizes, for a wonderful evening! THANK YOU!

Last evening, Friends of Catholic Education hosted the 26th Annual Teacher Appreciation Dinner. We were honored to celebrate and give thanks to the extraordinary faculty, staff and administration from the Catholic Schools in Frederick County! We were thrilled to welcome Sr. Patricia McCarron, Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Archdiocese of Baltimore, who offered a very inspiring and heartfelt keynote address. Congratulations to the 2026 Friends of Catholic Education Teaching Award of Excellence Recipients, as voted on by the staff at their school! We thank our generous sponsors who made the dinner possible!
