In honor of National Breastfeeding Awareness Month this August, the Frederick (MD) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. is hosting "Nurturing Our Future." This initiative addresses the disproportionately high mortality rates among Black and Brown infants—often linked to socioeconomic gaps and limited prenatal care—by providing Frederick County families with essential support.
The event will feature an OB/GYN, pediatrician, lactation consultant, and postpartum specialists to answer questions and provide evidence-based guidance. Community partners will also be available to discuss broader health issues affecting people of color.
