MACEM&PS showcases Emergency Management Partnerships at Statewide Forum ๐จ๐ค
We participated as an exhibitor at the Maryland Department of Emergency Management- MDEM 2026 Whole Community Integration Forum at MDEM Headquarters.
Instructional Specialist Alan Lyons and Special Projects Manager Stephen Stuart Carter connected with attendees to share MACEM&PS capabilities, including contracting support, grant initiatives, and academic pathways within the Legal and Public Safety Career Community. They also engaged with partners across the state, including Christina Ferguson, head of MDEMโs Nonprofit Engagement Program and a leader within the Whole Community Initiatives Branch.
This yearโs forum, โPartnering for the New Normal: A State-Led Disaster Forum,โ brought together public, private, nonprofit, and community partners to strengthen coordination for disaster response and recovery, identify emerging needs, and align resources across Maryland.

Every semester, our FCPS Interns and Work Study Students prove they are absolute MVPs on our team. ๐

MACEM&PS Welcomes New Advisory Committee Members!
The Mid-Atlantic Center for Emergency Management (MACEM&PS) is proud to announce four new members joining its Professional Services Advisory Committee: John Contestabile (Skyline Technology Solutions), Scott McVicker (Frederick Community College), Clifford Oliver (Nanticoke Global Strategies LLC), and Lauren Weldon (Frederick Community College).
This distinguished group brings valuable expertise to help guide MACEM&PSโs work in public safety grants, contracts, and strategic outreach.
We also thank our returning members for their continued leadership and commitment: Kate Bryan (Maryland Center for School Safety), Michelle Gooding (FCC), Mark Hubbard (Loyola University Maryland), Scott Moyer, Russell Strickland (Maryland Department of Emergency Management), and Carolyn Tunney (Frederick Community College).
Supported by Administrative Communications Specialist Reshu Karki and Special Proects Manager Steve Carter, the Advisory Committee plays a vital role in advancing MACEM&PSโs federal, state, and local initiatives.

Legal Student Association at Frederick Community College proudly celebrated our Legal Studies program graduates with a festive taco bar, great music, and plenty of shared memories. The room was filled with excitement for what lies ahead and a true sense of pride, connection, and friendship.

๐๐ Congratulations to the 160th Academy Class of the Maryland State Police on graduating after 28 weeks of rigorous training!
We are especially proud of the 15 graduating troopers who went above and beyond by completing additional college coursework during the academy to earn their Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degrees in Police Science through the longstanding partnership between the Maryland State Police and Frederick Community College ๐๐
