Beta Alpha Sigma Zeta Chapter was chartered on November 20, 2016 by six women in Frederick County, Maryland with the purpose of fostering the ideals of service, charity, scholarship, social action and cultural objectives, and to empower youth through the embodiment of sisterhood and finer womanhood. We are committed to providing our time, talents and service to enhance the quality of life and level of community support for all residents of Frederick County, Maryland, by uplifting the principles of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.

Grounded in Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated’s Extraordinary Power of S.H.E. — Social, Health, and Economic Justice, our Sorors spent the day learning, connecting, and engaging in meaningful conversations around issues impacting women, families, and our communities.

Today, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated honors the legacy and uplifts the men of Iota Phi Theta, as they celebrate their 63rd Anniversary.

Since its founding in 1963, the brown and gold have stood as a beacon of fortitude, purposefully built to advocate for the rights of our people and champion social and economic justice for the overlooked and underserved.

Born out of a pivotal moment in history, Iota became a movement. At Morgan State University, twelve visionary founders: Albert Hicks, Lonnie Spruill, Jr., Charles Briscoe, Frank Coakley, John Slade, Barron Willis, Webster Lewis, Charles Brown, Louis Hudnell, Charles Gregory, Elias Dorsey, Jr., and Michael Williams - united around a shared commitment to maturity, community, and civic engagement. Refusing to be mere spectators, they became architects of change.
