St. John Branching Out Welcome to the official page for Saint John Lutheran Church and School’s exciting Branchi John Lutheran Church (Fraser, MI). St.

This page contains all of the updates, information, events and opportunities for the capital campaign drive, known as Branching Out, at St. John voters overwhelmingly approved a building project that will modernize and improve existing parts of our church and school, as well as expand and modernize our school. All of this will be done in order to grow the ministry of our church, which includes imp

Today was an awesome day at Saint John as we dedicated our new organ, and building. We also witnessed the Miracle of Baptism in the late service as well as recognized our school teachers. We are so blessed to have gotten this far with this project. It has been many years in the making, and this is only Phase One. Our Future State Committee worked many many years, and hours on this project. It has been a true blessing that our church leaders had the forsight to look ahead into our future. We all knew the building was getting old and if we wanted to continue to spread the Word we would need to grow and modernize, which is what we have done here. Let's hope we can continue to grow and continue on with Phase Two and Phase Three. To God be the Glory.

Thursday Update - 08-25-19
Just a few days before school opens on Monday and things are looking good on the inside and the outside. Also, don't forget this Sunday, August 25, 2019, we will have our dedication of the new building and organ. There willl be a potluck dinner after late service so bring your appetites. I wasn't going to show a video today but decided to after a quick visit and noticing the grass had just been cut and looks awesome. You will see a shot taken last year of our brown lawn which was due to not having a functioning sprinkler system. The old system was pretty much tore up after the addition of the playground on the front lawn. Now it is completely rebuilt and should be keeping our lawn looking awesome for years to come. Hope to see you all on Sunday at the dedication and potluck.

PS: please excuse the typo on the last slide. I need a secretary.

Thursday Update - 08-01-19
Things are moving along inside the new building as the teachers start to arrange their rooms. Most of the work being done at this time is the landscaping. Many trees are being planted and the sprinkler system is almost completed. Perfect timing as all these trees will definitely need to be watered. I do believe the back grass is going to be hydro seeded but not sure what will be done with the front lawn right now. Maybe it will also be hydro seeded. Since I don't get many opportunities to run into Doug (project manager) I have to go by things I have been told in the past, which obviously could change over time. I will try to get some answers on the total scope of the landscaping and hopefully pass it along when I get it. Hoping to see some progress on the landscaping by next week. To God be the Glory.

Thursday Update - 07-25-19
Well it looks like we finally are making some progress on the Phase 1. There have been so many delays due to rain this year it has really slowed us down considerably. As most of you know the drive behind the building has been completed and the parking spaces have been restriped. The wall has been completed around the new air conditioning unit and the sprinkler system is starting to be installed. The play-scape is being re-installed in the back of the building so the kids will have some place to play, instead of just the driveway. Looking forward to seeing some landscaping being done so our beautiful building will, once again, look awesome. Many volunteers are handling our gardens this year. Our garden club is always looking for more people to help out. With the new building will come more opportunities/areas to work on. Not sure when the next video will be. We will see what gets done over the next week.
