Last week, students in Mrs. Colon’s class conducted their first science experiment of the year! By placing celery stalks in water mixed with food coloring, students observed how nutrients are absorbed through the stem and transported up to the leaves. The food coloring provided a clear visual of this process in action.

Math Connections at Reutter School

Last week, in Mrs. Riggione’s and Mrs. Cockerill’s fifth grade math classes, students listened to 30,000 Stitches as we took time to remember and honor September 11.

Students then jumped into a math activity connected to the American flag while practicing our standing whiteboard routines. Working in groups, students solved a Try It problem, shared their strategies, and made connections between the different ways their classmates approached the problem.

Students were also invited to choose from differentiated extension tasks, giving them an opportunity to keep exploring and applying their math skills through American flag-related prompts.

We want to inform families that one of our contracted Holcomb buses, the Dolphin bus, was involved in a motor vehicle accident shortly after leaving the Main Road School this morning. Thankfully, there were no students on the bus at the time of the accident.

Another bus will be filling in for the Dolphin bus for the Janvier School bus run.

We appreciate your understanding and patience as we make this temporary adjustment to transportation services.

Reutter School Weekly Update

On Friday afternoon, the Reutter School community gathered to mark the 25th Anniversary of 9/11 and commemorate Patriot Day. Students, teachers, staff, and community members stood shoulder-to-shoulder to reflect on our nation’s resilience, unity, and strength.

The moving program featured remarks from our Student Council leaders, Principal Mr. Peters, and Music Teacher Mr. Griffin. We were especially honored to welcome and recognize veterans from the Franklinville VFW and firefighters from the Franklinville Volunteer Fire Company, thanking them for their dedicated service and selflessness.

Thank you to all the parents and guardians who joined us for Back to School Night at Reutter School! It was wonderful to fill our hallways with so much positive energy and strong support for our students. Seeing our school community come together sets the foundation for an incredible, successful year ahead.
