These 8 high school seniors recently completed summer internships within Washington Parish. Students worked a minimum of 106 hours while also participating in classroom instruction. Thank you to the following partners for hosting interns:

Thanks to PHS for hosting a Fast Forward Intern this summer. School partnerships are an integral part of making work-based learning in our district a success…and Happy Birthday!!!

Today is bittersweet as we celebrate this sweet young lady’s 17th birthday and her last day as an intern at Pine Jr./Sr. High School!

Thank you for your hard work and all you’ve done these past few weeks. We appreciate you and wish you the happiest of birthdays and all the best in the future!

The school district would like to thank WSTE for welcoming Janiya. WSTE generously made a donation to the district today to cover the cost of Janiya’s internship stipend. Business/Industry partners are an integral part of the work-based learning experience.

Today is our last day with Janiya Garrett, our Franklinton High School intern. It has been a privilege to have her in our Marketing Department where she has worked with digital media and had the opportunity to meet many of the "movers and shakers" in our community.

We are grateful for her hard work, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn. We wish Janiya the very best in her upcoming senior year and continued success in all her future endeavors. We know she has a bright future ahead!!

Fast Forward Intern, Jayden Palmer helping sort and store supplies in the new WPSS CTE Center. It has been a pleasure having Jayden around central office as an intern this summer. I think he would agree that he has learned many valuable skills to help carry him into the world of work.

WPSB Fast Forward Intern Janiya Garrett had the opportunity to attend a Washington Parish Chamber Meeting today. We are so excited that she had the chance to interact with so many pivotal people from our community.

We are excited to recognize FHS students Madisyn Watkins (L) and Payton Brumfield (R) for being the first Washington Parish students to complete classwork and earn certification in 911 Emergency Dispatch. It was a pleasure to partner with Sheriff Smith and Lt. Simpson of the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office on this new endeavor.
