If you’re planning to attend our Alumni Watch Party tonight, here’s a little extra reason to make your Founders Day gift today: Alumni who give $100 or more to the BGA Fund today can pick up a BGA car flag at the party as our thank-you for supporting BGA.

Your gift will also count toward your alumni decade’s participation total and earn points for today’s Greers and Platos as they compete for the chance to choose their side of the river.

Homecoming Week is here, and next Monday we’ll keep the celebration going with Founders Day.

On October 5, we’ll mark 138 years since Battle Ground Academy was founded and celebrate the traditions, relationships, and values that continue to connect generations of Wildcats: Character. Scholarship. Excellence.

This year, your gift also comes with a little friendly competition. Alumni gifts will earn points for the current Greers and Platos as they compete for the chance to choose their side of the river, and we’ll see which alumni decade can claim the highest participation.

You don’t have to wait until October 5. Gifts made now through Founders Day count toward the celebration and the competition.

💙💛 A Lasting Tribute to a Beloved BGA Educator

The Keith family recently presented BGA with a commissioned painting honoring the late Dr. Lucas G. “Luke” Boyd, who devoted 48 years to education, including 19 years as principal of BGA's Upper School.

The artist behind the painting, Wendi Parker, has taught visual art at BGA for 25 years and was honored to be chosen to create this beautiful tribute to Dr. Boyd.

Featuring magnolias alongside familiar BGA imagery, the painting was given in Dr. Boyd's memory by the Keith family, whose own ties to Dr. Boyd and BGA span generations.

We are grateful to the Keith family for this thoughtful gift, to Wendi for sharing her talent, and to Dr. Boyd's family for joining us as we celebrated a man whose influence continues to be felt throughout the BGA community. The painting can be found hanging in the lobby of the Sondra Morris and Robert N. Moore, Jr. '52 Center for Arts and Entrepreneurship.
