The Tennessee AgVets Opportunities on FarmLand (TN AgVOLs) Program is a partnership of TN agricultural service providers that aims to increase the participation of transitioning service members (TSM) and veterans into the agricultural sector. Program activities will focus on connecting military personnel with disabilities and aspiring veteran beginning farmers with the technical assistance, educat

ion, financial support, and hands-on training needed to succeed at launching new or expanding existing agricultural businesses in TN rural communities. AgVOLs partner organizations include lead applicant non-profit Appalachian Resource Conservation & Development Council (ARCD), University of Tennessee (UT) Extension (UT MANAGE and TN AgrAbility), TN State University’s TN New Farmer Academy (TSU), Fort Campbell (the largest military installation in TN), and the Farmer Veteran Coalition of TN (FVC TN).

Tennessee landowners interested in learning more about generating farm income on property they already own or live on are encouraged to attend any of the five upcoming educational webinars from CPA to be held via Zoom beginning in September. The Farming Where You Live webinars will cover a variety of educational topics relevant to Tennessee landowners. The program especially targets small-acreage landowners, beginning farmers, and timber or forest landowners in Tennessee. However, all interested individuals are encouraged to attend.

Knowing that many of our Tennessee landowners are seeking opportunities to generate farm income on property they already own, the purpose of this webinar series is to provide free educational sessions that will help generate new insight or ideas into utilizing existing farm or forest land to its fullest potential.
