John Calvin never set foot in America, yet the biblical worldview he helped recover shaped the Geneva Bible carried aboard the Mayflower, and influenced generations of pastors, reformers and statesman.
Historian George Bancroft wrote:
“He that will not honor the memory and respect the influence of Calvin knows but little of the origin of American liberty.”
