My posts are full of the day-to-day minutia of writing, teaching, creating, and domestic arts. I might hail from Kentucky, but I'm livin' it up in Tennesee,

In Excelsis Concert Series: The Choir of Westminster Abbey lifted their voices in glorious unison. and I were in the balcony experiencing the science of heat rising. A lot of heat rose because of the packed church. We practiced the languid fanning technique to cool off, teamwork at its finest. Halfway through, I scouted us some seats on the main floor with the most amazing vantage point. See picture 🥰 I got to hear two selections from one of my favorite composers, Ralph Vaughan Williams. ❤️🙏🏽

I was so honored and touched that I received the award for the Longest Running Co-host of Poets From the Neighborhood. I have shared poetry from poets that live in Tennessee and even across the world on WCTV. I frequently have hosted with Dr. Veera Rajaratnam (pictured), Founder of the TN Poets from the Neighborhood and TN Poets Day. A day dedicated to lyrical words, celebrating poetry for over 10 years.

I am bursting with pride. Alaina entered the sticker contest. She drew the horse, Rita, totally by herself. I walked her through the steps, but she did all the drawing and coloring herself. If you only knew how hard that was for her. She has come so far. Alaina's drawing was chosen as one of the winners and made into stickers. ❤️🙌❤️ She also won a lunchbox, so her Elmo lunchbox will finally get retired.

Obsessed with Bistro Huddy. It is my favorite "show". One guy playing twelve parts, at least, so talented Drew Talbert! I'm so invested in the couples, but the belly laughs from the scenarios, BEST joy-buzz ever! Note: Does use curse words, so beware if you aren't wearing earbuds.

The Power of Observation: Seeing the World Through a Writer’s Eyes 04/12/2026

See the world like a writer — every detail is a story waiting to be told. In my latest post, I share a simple exercise to sharpen your observational skills and turn ordinary moments into memorable scenes. Read more: https://wix.to/9XxyiiD

The Power of Observation: Seeing the World Through a Writer’s Eyes One of the most transformative lessons I learned early on was to observe the world with a writer’s curiosity. Every detail, no matter how small, holds a story waiting to be told. The way sunlight filters through leaves, the rhythm of footsteps on a cobblestone street, the scent of rain on dry eart...

Update: The said fixes are now properly fixed by my Handyman Joe Kindoll ❤ I would like to add the rubber bands held, but I kept the drying feature off the dishwasher. Also, the duct tape held, even after over ten loads of laundry. Not bad for 1930s-era fixes :)

Handywoman Kristen in da hizzy! So proud of my 1930s-era fixes... use what you got. Dishwasher top-attach thingie, technical term, broke; came up with rubber bands to fix. Washing machine top was cracking, didn't want it to break, duck tape to the rescue. I'm not for hire. Kindoll household calls only for non-mechanical, cheap fixes.

I had the self-appointed honor to taste 's baked ziti. I can assure you, I am in love. I'm planning on running away with both pans. We will be happy together. My family understands, sometimes you gotta live your truth. My truth is that I have found belly happiness at first bite.  ❤️🫶
