Sol & Son Dual Language Academy

We are a bilingual elementary & preschool offering immersion in Spanish and English.

This is both for Spanish speakers who want to maintain their heritage, and for those wanting to give their children the bilingual gifts that they did not have.

We were blessed to receive an expansion grant for our 2nd grade as well as important resources for teachers from the Church of the Good Shepherd Cashiers totaling $12,000. God is so good, and has faithfully provided through his church 🙏🏼✝️

Our 2025-26 Inagural School Year has come to a close 🎓 We want to thank every teacher who poured their heart out, every child that lit up our rooms, and every parent who trusted us in our very first year. This is the foundation, may we continue to build it stronger 🌈☀️

Kicking off Day 1 of Mission Cup 2026 ⚽️🥅 USA, Mexico & Canada had a blast competing today. We are excited to announce that all funds raised from our VBS go to Magnolia Mission - a local nonprofit committed to supporting foster families in our area.

This common fear comes from the understanding that our children learn language the same way and at the same difficulty as adults do. Studies using MRI and other neuroscience methods show bilingual children develop neural systems capable of managing multiple languages from infancy. Even babies can distinguish two languages by their rhythms, sounds, and mouth movements.

🧠Language expands and strengths a child’s brain- it does the opposite of confuse it.

As many have heard, a double earthquake with magnitudes of 7.5 hit Venezuela's capital and surrounding areas, causing widespread devastation and loss of life. Venezuela is close to our hearts at Sol & Son DLA, as Maestra Jiji and her husband, Juan, are members of our little family here. They unfortunately lost their apartment, something their family worked hard to provide. Venezuelans do not have "home insurance" like we do- and it will be a total loss for many. Please pray for everyone who lost their loved ones or their home- and especially be in fervent prayer for all who are alive but buried under the rubble- that they be rescued swiftly. If you would like to contribute in any way, we have a campaign for them on Zeffy- and no fees will be taken out. Every dollar will go towards the Avilas or their friends, family and church as needs arise.

We have some really special Dads and Grandpas in our school. From working security to fixing broken things to installing cameras, working on our website, cutting our grass, or just showing up for big and small moments. We are so blessed to have these talented, strong, loving and devoted Fathers in our corner. Happy Fathers Day weekend to all our Sol & Son Dads!
