After 20+ years of instructing children, I’ve noticed something important.

It’s not about having the smartest child or the perfect student.

It’s about parents who set expectations, prioritize education, encourage daily practice, and follow through—even when their children resist.

Because raising independent, confident learners takes more than good intentions. It takes consistency, commitment, and partnership.

❤️ Children need a voice. But they also need parents who are willing to lead.

After completing the Kumon Math Program at just 15 years old, Jesus went on to study Biotechnology Engineering at Tecnológico de Monterrey and co-found SEPOC, a startup dedicated to sustainable agricultural innovation.
From academic achievement to entrepreneurship, Jesus is using science and innovation to help solve real-world environmental and agricultural challenges. His story is a powerful reminder of what can happen when curiosity, perseverance, and purpose come together.

At just 15 years old, Ana has already completed both the Kumon Reading and English Language programs and is currently studying Math at Level M. Through years of dedication and self-learning, she has developed the skills that helped her gain acceptance to more than 23 universities while still in her teens.
A talented musician who plays over 15 instruments and speaks English fluently, Ana dreams of becoming a doctor and Neuroscience researcher.

Finger counting isn’t the problem. Staying dependent on it can be.

As math gets harder, children need to move from counting to knowing—building number sense, fluency, and confidence so basic facts don’t slow down more advanced math.

The goal isn’t to rush them off their fingers.

It’s to build the skills so they no longer need them.
