We offer something for everyone from glass blowing, woodworking and much, much more! Utilizing our state-of-the-art 35,000+ sq. ft.

For over 34 years, MASW has been committed to first-class woodworking and time honored craft education from the very best woodworkers and artisians of modern time. Throughout North America there are many woodworking schools that range in duration from a few weeks to several years. Usually these programs are taught by “staff” instructors and the curriculum is limited to a specific style, philosophy

or process. Our program at MASW is different from these other programs in part because classes are short-term (5 days, 7 days, or 2 weeks) while being much more intensive. facility and our dedicated full-time staff assistants, we offer the widest variety of subjects; taught by the best woodworking instructors and artisans this world has to offer. Can you turn wood thinner than you think possible?

Turn a Trembleur: Accepting the Challenge of an 18th Century Woodturner
with Christian Brisepierre

Once used by turner compagnons to prove true mastery, the trembleur is a delicate spindle connected by impossibly thin sections.
In this class, students will refine precision turning using the spindle gouge, bedan, and skew, explore elegant form and design, and learn to work safely and patiently as they build sections into a finished piece—up to 32″ long.
Expect sharp tools, steady hands, creative problem-solving, and a deep appreciation for just how strong thin wood can be.

Last October, David Wesseler joined us for Making an Arch Hall Table with Michael Fortune. He shared that it was truly an honor to work alongside Michael, who encouraged him to try techniques he likely wouldn’t have attempted on his own.

The result is a beautiful piece that reflects both thoughtful design and careful craftsmanship.

✨ Finished Friday ✨
This beautiful Craftsman rocking chair was completed by Alex Weaver after taking Frank Strazza’s class last year. Made from cherry with leather upholstery and finished with Livos hard wax oil, it’s a great example of thoughtful design and fine craftsmanship coming together.

Beautiful work—we love seeing projects like this come to life after class! 👏🪵

🎶✨ Welcome to MASW, Dave Foster! ✨🎶

We’re thrilled to welcome Dave Foster as a new instructor at Marc Adams School of Woodworking & Time Honored Crafts!

A lifelong musician and woodworker, Dave turned a passion decades in the making into a full-time craft when he launched Foster Mandolin and Guitar Company in 2020. His custom instruments blend artistry, precision, and Tennessee-sourced materials—and his love for vintage instruments (and a good restoration challenge) goes back more than 35 years.

With a unique background that bridges dentistry and fine craftsmanship, Dave has refined his inlay skills to an exceptional level—so much so that he now creates inlay work for some of the most respected luthiers in the country. In 2024, he began hosting hands-on banjo and mandolin camps, welcoming students of all skill levels to learn, build, and have a great time along the way.

We’re excited to have Dave sharing his expertise, passion, and precision with our community. Please join us in giving him a warm MASW welcome! 👏🎻🪵

This week we’re sharing the work of a longtime MASW student, Pete Lamberty, who took Marc’s Sculptural Rocking Chair class back in the spring of 2007. Since then, he’s continued building rockers of his own design.

This rocker is based on a design he created more than twenty years ago and has been revisiting ever since.
