Last stop on the Texas tour: America’s Auto Auction Austin!

Big shout out to GM Jamie McCollum and the whole team for the warm welcome. And in true auction fashion, sale day brought out a LOT of rain, but these folks were ready for it. Rain gear on, right back to work.

The visit was spent streamlining their Post Sale Inspection process, and with PSI+ in place their inspectors can now move through their workflows a lot more efficiently. They moved through the new process like a breeze.

Well organized and ready for anything, that sums up Austin perfectly.

Everything’s bigger in Texas, including this team’s drive.

Morgan Mackey just wrapped up a visit with the team at America’s Auto Auction San Antonio, led by Brandon Walston, and this crew was ready to hit the ground running from day one.

Well organized and ready for anything. They spent the visit streamlining their Post Sale Inspection process, and with PSI+ in place, their inspectors can now move through their workflows a lot more efficiently.

What stood out most: they take pride in every step of the process, and it shows, from frame checks underneath the vehicles to every inspection point along the way.

Three new systems. One week. One very impressive team.

Last week, Account Manager Morgan Mackey and Senior Install Team Lead Sandy Hays headed to Victoria, Texas to work with the team at America's Auto Auction Victoria on their system conversion, a big one, with three new systems adopted simultaneously.

A lot of teams would shy away from a shift that significant. This one stepped up, leaned in, and mastered the new tools in record time. Small team, big effort, and a genuine pleasure to work with.

What's now in their hands:

🔹 New Condition Report (CR) Workflow for better accuracy
🔹 New Post-Sale Inspection (PSI) Tools for maximum efficiency

What a week in South Texas.

Account Manager Morgan Mackey had the pleasure of working with the team at America's Auto Auction Corpus Christi, a genuinely welcoming group, eager to learn new processes and good-natured enough to let her take a few pictures while they worked.

This crew is well organized and ready for anything. We spent the visit streamlining their Post Sale Inspection process, and with PSI+ in place, their inspectors can now move through their workflows a lot more efficiently.

And she saved one of the best for last. As she said her goodbyes, she got to meet Mr. Wilson, the auction dog.

Thoroughbred Auto Auction in Clarksville celebrated their 7th Anniversary Sale, and it was a great day full of games, prizes, and of course a strong lineup of vehicles through the lanes.

Thoroughbred Auto Auction has built a loyal following in the Clarksville market over the past seven years, and that showed on anniversary day. The team's hard work and the relationships they've built with dealers in the area were on full display.

Exciting times are ahead too: Thoroughbred will soon be moving to a new location, and we can't wait to see what the next chapter brings.

Big Valley Auto Auction in Donna, Texas celebrated their 18th Anniversary Sale on Thursday, September 17th, and Auction Edge was honored to be part of the celebration.

Ron St. Denis, Customer Engagement Manager, Scot Ford, Digital Sales Manager, and Ryan Russell, Account Manager, were all on hand for 800+ cars, $18,000 in giveaways, and some amazing memories. At 60%+ sold, the auction, buyers and sellers all enjoyed a tremendously productive day!

Before the sale started, Lisa Franz, General Manager, acknowledged all of the Big Valley staff, including the office, sales, recon, lot operations, arbitration, drivers, and all the staff that work behind the scenes to make sale day run at top speed!

That's a testament to the family atmosphere that Lisa, her father Bernard, and the team at Big Valley have built over the last 18 years, both with their co-workers and the dealers from 40+ states that buy weekly both in-lane and on Edge Pipeline.

Last week, Account Manager Tammy Sullivan visited Backs Auto Auction in Mt. Sterling, KY, and it was a full-circle moment. Ten years ago, Tammy and Glenda were there when Backs went live with us.

Since then, they've evolved from a Public Sale to a Dealer Sale model post-COVID, and last week they went live with CRSimplified and Spark, posting an 83.1% sale rate in their first week!

Backs Auto Auction's roots run deep:

•Founded in 1979 by Larry Back as Fairground Auto Auction in downtown Mt. Sterling
•Relocated to a larger Wi******er Road lot to support growth
•Built a new facility in 2008 with a modern sale arena and improved customer amenities
•Now led by Larry's son, Shane Back, carrying forward over 40 years of regional tradition
•Weekly Thursday sales at 1:00 PM EST, with a hybrid format supporting in-person and online bidding

Grateful for partners like Backs who continue to grow alongside us.

Last week our Chief Digital Officer, Mark Phillips, spoke on a panel at the ARA Summer Roundtable covering AI and industry updates, and shared some great insights with the room.

Great takeaways included:

On AI, the best way to learn it is to jump in and use it. Play around, test it, see what it can and cannot do. It is also built to sound confident, so take its answers, especially numbers, with a grain of salt and verify before you rely on them.

On the vehicles coming through the lanes, more EVs are showing up in consignments, and consignors are looking for auctions with the infrastructure to handle them. At the same time, features once unique to EVs, like Advanced Driver Assistance Systems and subscription services, are showing up on gas powered vehicles too. The June 2026 update to the NAAA Arbitration Guidelines now addresses these features directly.

Great conversations all around, and a good reminder that our industry keeps evolving on more than one front at once. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to talk shop with Mark!
