Pentecost: God’s Future is Here! This is the purpose of Pentecost: The Holy Spirit is given to us to begin the work of bringing God’s future into our world today.

”Last night, while waiting to board our plane, Carter Jean was being her usual inquisitive self wanting to meet and say “hi” to everyone she could, until she walked up on this man.

He reached out and asked if she wanted to sit with him.
He pulled out his tablet and showed her how to draw with it, they watched cartoons together, and she offered him snacks.

This wasn’t a short little exchange, this was 45 minutes.
Watching them in that moment, I couldn’t help but think, different genders, different races, different generations, and the best of friends.

This is the world I want for her.
In a country that is so deeply divided by beliefs, I want her life to be filled with moments like this... not liberal or conservative republican or democrat, socialist or capitalist, just HUMAN.

I think it’s ironic that I married a man who loves putting outfits together (yes he calls them outfits) but my favorite thing he wears is a simple white t-shirt. I find a unique beauty in simplicity. So this simple, ancient wisdom about marriage actually has a depth of beauty with the power to transform our marriages if we follow it. “So every married man should be gracious to his wife just as he is gracious to himself. And every wife should be tenderly devoted to her husband.” (‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5‬:‭33‬ ‭TPT‬‬)

There it is. Imagine if we walked this out during his hectic month! We could truly have a season full of peace and joy.

Gotta start ‘em young 🤣
