Working together for Franklin! 🤝🏫🏛️

Each year, the Franklin Community Schools Board and Franklin City Council come together for a joint meeting to share updates, discuss issues that impact both organizations, and look for ways to continue moving our community forward.

These meetings also include an update from members of the Mayor’s Youth Council.

It’s a great example of what can happen when our schools, city, and community work together.

🩺🏥 What if you could design your own emergency department?

That’s exactly what students in Mr. Karns’ Biomedical Innovation class are doing for their first project of the year!

Students are designing their own emergency departments from the ground up. They're creating a functional floor plan, determining the equipment and supplies they’ll need, and considering the staffing required to make their department work. Then, they’ll put their designs to the test by showing how two fictional patients would move through their emergency department and receive care.

To help bring their ideas to life, students recently visited the Johnson Memorial Health Emergency Room to get inspiration and see firsthand how an emergency department is designed and operates.

From classroom concepts to real-world healthcare applications, these students are getting a look at what it takes to think like healthcare professionals! 👏🔬

🐾💙 We’re feeling extra thankful for our therapy dogs!

Joey stopped by Franklin Cub Academy yesterday, and it’s safe to say he brought plenty of smiles, cuddles, and calm to the classroom. 🐶✨

We’re so grateful for Joey, Hiro, and Benny who bring a little extra joy and comfort to our schools. They have a special way of making a great day even better, and sometimes, making a tough day a little easier.

🔥👩‍🍳Safety First!

Mrs. Surface's Family & Consumer Sciences students kicked off their kitchen learning with a little Safety Scavenger Hunt! 🕵️‍♀️

Students searched the kitchen for fire exits, fire extinguishers, alarms, and potential fire hazards. 🚨👀

They may have been pointing, posing, and playing along for the camera, but they were also learning some pretty important skills.
