We had a wonderful time both inside and outside our tent!
The infant room enjoyed sensory bags filled with s'mores, went on a bear hunt, and read books together in our tent.

They had a fantastic time listening to stories while developing their comprehension skills and admiring the vibrant colors of the book pages. The delightful smell of the s'mores made the sensory bags an exciting exploration activity, as the s'mores looked so appetizing! Using their fine and gross motor skills during the bear hunt, the infants reached and grabbed the stuffed bears hidden under a blanket while searching for them with a flashlight.

Activities like these are fun, engaging, and support developmental milestones, whether in the classroom or, in this case, on a "camping trip."

The Week of the Young Child is a time to celebrate our students in early childhood education. Each day is filled with fun and educational activities. Music Monday and Tasty Tuesday were particularly successful throughout the school!

On Music Monday, the children explored different instruments and created their own music note collages. Tasty Tuesday involved learning how to cut bananas for fruit salad, making delicious dirt cups, and baking the finest cookies to please our taste buds.

This exploration through learning is a wonderful way to achieve various milestones while having fun. Stay tuned to see what the rest of the week has in store!

Due to the severe weather and unsafe driving conditions in our area, Discovery Days will be closed today, Monday, March 16th. Hello Discovery Day families and community,

I would like to take a moment to introduce myself and greet everyone. I am the new school director at Discovery Days, and I am excited to have begun this journey with our team since the beginning of the new year. I look forward to helping our educators grow into the best early childhood professionals in the area.

A little about myself: I lived in Florida for 31 years, and I definitely miss the sunshine! I have four children—three are adults and our youngest is 17. We have a large, blended family with seven grandchildren whom we love to spend time with and spoil. I started my career in education while I was in high school, took some time off to raise my children, and returned to the field when we moved to Wisconsin in 2021. I enjoy the beach and being outdoors, as well as crafting and thrifting.

I have been a school director since 2023, and it has been a rewarding experience to help our team of educators grow both personally and professionally. I believe in nurturing and supporting the team.

I look forward to strengthening our existing family relationships and building new ones along the way.
