The Sale will feature FIVE BREEDS! The pullets raised by our 4-H students this year are Black Australorps, Blue Rocks, Gold S*x Links, Olive Eggers, and Production Reds! These are all breeds noted for their gentle temperaments and egg production. The pullets will be available for viewing by 9:00 a.m. The Grand Champion, Reserve Grand Champion and Breed Champion pens of 5 will be named at 9:45 a.m. and the auction will begin immediately thereafter. The sale will be held in Barn A at the Williamson County Ag Expo Park.

This link will also have more information about the sale, each breed of pullet available and more. A map of parking, information about entrance to the event and the sale process will be sent to those who register as buyers.

The 4-H’ers will be selling, in lots of five, approximately 375 pullets. These will be five months old, and most will have already begun to lay. They are beautiful birds and excellent egg layers. If you plan to buy, be sure to bring boxes or crates to transport your pullets home following the sale. Please pass the word along to anyone who may be interested. This is a great opportunity to purchase some high-quality birds and support the 4-H Poultry Program!

We are proud of our Consumer Decision Making teams today! They competed against one of the largest turnouts for CDM today at the Tennessee State Fair, and represented our county so well!

Our Junior High team won second in the region, with two members, Dea and Oorvi, placing 6th and 7th individually.

Our Senior High team faced tough competition, and came out with a 5th place finish!

Thank you to Hitesh Ashar for coaching and Mansi Ashar for supporting our CDM teams!

The Consumer Decision Making Contest helps youth build practical skills for making smart, fact-based choices in everyday life. Through this hands-on competition, participants learn to evaluate products, compare quality, and make informed decisions that best meet specific needs or situations. The contest also strengthens reasoning, communication, and teamwork skills as members present oral reasons to explain their choices, helping them think critically and make confident decisions in real-world settings.
