The Wall the Heals is a 3/4 size replica of the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington DC. The pictures here are not copywritten or display a logo so that the veterans, volunteers, workers, ambassadors, Franklin City Employees, and wall es**rts can download a copy of their picture as a thank you for your service, help, passion, and patriotism. Events coming up at the Wall in DC. See below

We have multiple special events taking place at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in DC this month that we’d love for you to share with your communities!

Father Day at The Wall - On Father’s Day, we lay roses all around the Memorial site to honor fathers on The Wall, those that never had a chance to become fathers, and those fathers who served in Vietnam who returned home and later died. Each color rose has its own meaning and anyone can sponsor a rose to be laid at the Memorial site along with a personal message. For more information on Father’s Day at The Wall, go here: https://www.vvmf.org/fathers-day/

June is PTSD Awareness Month and the 27th is National PTSD Awareness Day. That evening, we’ll lay teal candles all around the Memorial site to honor those who returned home from Vietnam to fight another battle with PTSD. Anyone can sponsor a teal candle and a personal message to be placed at the Memorial that evening. We also offer PTSD Awareness shirts that you can wear in your community all year long to continue spreading awareness. For information on our PTSD Awareness efforts, go here: https://www.vvmf.org/PTSD-Awareness/. And we encourage all of your communities to engage in your own PTSD Awareness efforts this month. Some ideas about things you can do are included on our page.

On National PTSD Awareness Day – we will bring light to the continuing toll of the war. The Vietnam War may be over, but the battle continues for many Vietnam veterans and their families to this day.

On National Vietnam War Veterans Day, we honor the legacy of the millions who served our nation during the Vietnam War. On March 29, 1973, the last American combat troops left Vietnam. More than three million Americans served in-country during the war and 58,281 men and women made the ultimate sacrifice. We continue to lose Vietnam veterans every day as a result of the war’s lingering effects.

Many Vietnam veterans returned home to a divided country and, at times, little to no respect for their service. Today, we honor all they gave for their country. Together, we will continue to show our gratitude for our Vietnam veterans and work to ensure their service and sacrifices are never forgotten.

To our Vietnam veterans, “Thank you for your service and Welcome Home!” https://bit.ly/3cvLSv1

Please consider donating to our ongoing fundraiser to commemorate the 40th anniversary of The Wall: https://bit.ly/36Q7v8E
