Time for me to ask for your help! Once again, we are hosting our Reverse Job Fair for young adults with special needs. This was something we started 3 years ago now and we have only continued to grow - from just Bloomfield Hills, to 5 districts to this year hosting 7 districts throughout Oakland County! Last years turn out from our community members was incredible!
It is a wonderful opportunity for the amazing young men and women in our adult transition programs to show off their working skills and for employers throughout the county to learn how they can fit into and benefit their workplace through customized employment or by partnering with a local district for work based learning (all of which we can explain in detail there).
THE CONCEPT: Students make visual presentation of their working experiences, job skills, and information about their employment desires. The potential employers walk the room and are able to interview and learn about multiple young people and their skills. Resumes and contact information will be available for each participant should you find someone that fits your need!
MY ASK: Join us! Even if for a brief time to support these young people and/or potentially gain benefit to your place of employment. Even if you aren't able to offer a position, the support and practice for self-advocacy will be greatly beneficial for all student participants.
The details are listed on the flyer below. If you are interested, please scan the QR code below or send me a message/comment and I can directly add you to our list of interested interviewers!
