Welcome Jeff to the Morey Music faculty!

Jeff James began playing guitar at the age of 9 and has since developed a deep passion for music, leading to extensive experience in various punk and alternative bands, including performing as a drummer for "Hot Cops" and as a lead guitarist and vocalist in several other projects. In addition to guitar, Jeff is also proficient in drums and vocals, and is currently expanding his skills as a pianist.

With a master's degree in Fine Arts and an impeccable academic record from Villanova University and Boston University, where he maintained a 4.0 GPA, Jeff's teaching approach is grounded in both creativity and academic rigor. Extensive studies in childhood psychology further enhance his ability to connect with students and empower them through music education.

Trained by Carl Restivo, a distinguished musician known for his work with artists like Tom Morello and Rihanna, Jeff developed a strong foundation in technical skill and musical expression. This expertise is complemented by years of classroom experience as a fine arts high school teacher, with a focus on AP design studies.

Specializing in helping students find empowerment through music, visual art, and academic management skills, Jeff's teaching style emphasizes professionalism, a positive attitude, timeliness, and a passion for education and learning. He is committed to creating a supportive and inspiring learning environment where students can thrive, whether they are beginners or advanced musicians.
