We are having our second Group Fit Dog Walk of the year on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. You do not need to be a member to walk with us. Friendly dogs and handlers are welcome.

We are an AKC Fit Dog Club. And we will have our first Group Fit Dog Walk starting at 6:30pm tomorrow! Meet in front of the door to the VFW, where those walking will follow this route, which is exactly one mile total.

To earn a Fit Dog title, your dog must be at least 6 months old and registered with the AKC. At AKC FIT DOG activities, dogs may wear slip collars, buckle collars, Martingales, and body harnesses. They may not wear prong collars or e-collars. Leashes should be 4 ft. to 6 ft. long and should be made of fabric or leather. The handler for an AKC FIT DOG activity may be the dog owner or the dog owner’s designee.

Our group walk will count as HALF of what you need for the Bronze Fit Dog title. You must fill out the Documentation Form that we will provide you on Tuesday. The other half can be anything on the Broze checklist. For several of you, it will be an AKC Rally, Obedience or Agility title (eg, BN or RN count for the Bronze level.)
