This weekend, we welcomed our newest Lions to campus at Emmanuel University! There is something so special about this time of year as we watch campus come alive again, welcome new faces, and get ready for a brand new semester.

This year is even more exciting as we welcome our largest student population ever!

Today, we are so excited to welcome our returning Lions back to campus and officially kick off another incredible semester. We cannot wait to see all that this year has in store!

🦁 Alumni Spotlight: Alphonza “Al” Gibbs (BS ’01, BS ’02)

“God was with me.”

For Alphonza “Al” Gibbs, those words define his Emmanuel journey, from an uncertain freshman arriving on campus to a successful entrepreneur, community leader, husband, father, and lifelong Lion. Through the education, mentorship, and relationships he gained at Emmanuel, Al discovered the skills and confidence that helped shape his future.

Along the way, he found not only his purpose, but also his wife, fellow Lion Andrea Gibbs (’01). Nearly 25 years later, Al and Andrea continue to represent the lasting impact of an Emmanuel education, where faith, knowledge, and meaningful connections prepare students for success beyond graduation.

Their story is a reminder that the Emmanuel experience extends far beyond the classroom and continues to shape lives for generations.
