POPCORN PARADISE FUNDRAISER UPDATE:

Academic team parents, please read this message in full, as it contains important updates about our current fundraiser that is out. This is information that we just received today.

Popcorn Paradise remains closed as a forward facing business in an abundance of caution and safety to the public and their employees. That being said, our fundraiser needs to change.

We can still accept your packets at NTI pick up, however, the money collected will need to be DONATION only. Please contact your buyers and make sure they know/understand that they won’t be receiving popcorn.

We are extremely sad about this and can’t wait to do this fundraiser again next year to feed the community delicious popcorn! We can all agree that times have gotten pretty crazy, but we are doing the best we can. If a buyer is not okay with their purchase being donation only, please refund their money.

If you have any questions, let Ms. Conlee or Ms. Wainscott know. Fundraiser packets can be included with NTI work on the designated drop off date/time.

Academic Team competitions every year are some of my favorite days. Today was no different. When scrolling on Facebook, you might see all the amazing photos of our students with individual medals. They have studied so hard for these tests! You might see our team holding up trophies that we all worked so hard to get. However, today I really noticed some of the background things you probably won’t see when scrolling on Facebook.

We have parents that have spent countless hours studying with their child(ren) and it shows every time we compete.

We have volunteers and teachers that have spent many days after school in hopes that we can bring back trophies to AME.

We have an Academic Team family like no other. We have traveled state to state and watched their children and families grow up. Every year we all grow closer and closer.

We have small children who are leaders and will do HUGE things in their future. We had serval coaches mention the leadership characteristic in our kids.

We have little gentlemen that stayed after to help the hosting school clean up after the competition. 😍

We have created inside jokes that no one else would understand. We honestly look crazy in front of other teams.

We have created students that love and value their education, academics and learning!

So needed less to say we are beyond proud of our 1st place quick recall team, our 2nd place regional team and our 3rd place FPS team but our team is so much more! Thank you all for an amazing season and we can’t wait for Nationals. 🎉

QUICK RECALL PARENTS-
Since we have missed both practices this week we will have practice tomorrow. It is crucial that your child is there. This is our last practice before regionals. Practice will be until 4. If your child can not make it please let us know! Thank you all so much for being flexible. Remember Saturday 8 am for test takers at Collins Lane. Following will be lunch and then QR matches.

Districts are on a one hour delay. See students taking tests at 9.

This week's events:
Tuesday: After school at Anne Mason FPS students (Conner, Keegan, Sophie and Ryan C) will compete until about 5pm. Written Composition students will compete until around 4:15. (Audrey, Molly, and Jazzy.)
The above students need to have a ride after the competition. There will not be any parent viewing of this competition. All students will be in a quiet location for testing. Students will be given a blue pullover tomorrow to wear if he/she does not have one already.

Wednesday: We will have club pictures this day. If your child has a blue pullover please make sure they wear it this day. If your child is not competing in district WE WILL TAKE BACK THE BLUE PULLOVER ( if you did not buy it at the beginning of the year). Please make sure your child has a change of clothes.

Saturday:
8:00 All students taking a written test will need to be at Anne Mason at this time. If your child is not thereby 8:15 we will have to forfeit his/her spot. If your child is competing in QR this should begin around 11. If your child is only taking a written test you can feel free to leave after that time. Please make sure that all students are in his/her blue pullover on this day as well.

We have a few things that we need help with. It looks like we are going to have plenty of water and chips. We are needing a few parents to donate pizza for that day. We would love to have anyone (that is willing to help) either donate money for Little Caesars ($5) pizzas or call on Saturday and add to the AME delivery order. We are going to use these pizzas for concessions on Saturday. We would greatly appreciate any help in this area.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask! Also, tag anyone else that you might know that would like to see this.
