I THANK GOD for keeping you, covering you, strengthening you, and blessing you with another year of life. 74 years young and still giving us all the love, wisdom, laughter, and strength that only YOU can give! ❤️

Today marks the beginning of the 2026–2027 academic school year, and I couldn’t be more excited!

This year also marks my 19th year in education, and I am truly honored to serve as the Instructional Coach at Jefferson County Elementary School—The Dream Team!

I look forward to partnering with our outstanding teachers, dedicated faculty and staff, supportive parents, my phenomenal principal, Ms. Shameka Woods, our assistant principal, Mrs. Shalonda Hunter, and, most importantly, our incredible scholars. Together, we will continue to create a culture where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.

I am especially grateful to the Jefferson County School District for the honor of delivering the opening prayer to officially begin the 2026–2027 academic school year. It was a privilege to stand before so many dedicated educators as we united around this year’s theme:

“Excellence is the Expectation.”

Excellence isn’t a destination—it’s a mindset. It’s the commitment to give our very best every day, to inspire greatness in others, and to make a lasting impact on the lives of the students we serve.

Here’s to a year filled with growth, collaboration, achievement, and purpose. Let’s make this our best year yet!

Thank God for three incredible days! 💜💛

I’m extremely proud of our student-athletes and the work they put in over the past three days at NCA Camp. Their commitment, resilience, and willingness to learn were on full display, and together we accomplished a great deal. While we’ve made significant progress, we all know there’s still more work to do.

Now that we’ve made it back home safely, it’s time to rest, recharge, and refocus before we return in early August ready to continue building toward our goals.

And yes... my cheerleaders have requested that I take 48 hours without thinking about Alcorn Cheer. 😂 So, I’m going to take their advice, unplug for a couple of days, focus on my mental well-being, and come back refreshed and ready to start planning for their return beginning Wednesday.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support the vision of the Alcorn State University Cheerleading Program. The journey is just getting started.
