Our flower-filled morning felt like a celebration of spring! We made the flowers fly, decorated our bracelets with a rainbow of colored petals and ended class getting to know our new friends over a picnic. 🌸

Thank you to Hither Blooms for donating flowers to our class today! We had so much fun practicing our creativity by breaking, blending & bending the flower parts into bracelets, belts & of course soup! 🌸

It was a great day to be outside! ☔️ We jumped in puddles, ran through the grass and collected rain in our buckets to make the most of this wet morning. But best of all, we used our imaginations to turn our “not-a-stick”s into all sorts of fun from horse racing, fishing, dog walks and paintbrushes.

I am so grateful for all of the families who have decided to join me for Tinkergarten this spring!

Happy Find a Rainbow Day! 🌈✨

Our “Deseo de Arcoíris” (rainbow wish!) DIY activity stems from one of our favorite stories, “The Horse of a Different Color,” retold by WBUR's Circle Round Podcast. Head outside with kids and ask if they can find anything as beautiful as Valentina’s rainbow horse.

🌈 Once outside, look for things that your child (and you!) thinks are beautiful and special to behold. Try to make a rainbow out of the objects you find in your space. If, given the season, you can't find all of the ROYGBIV colors, make a rainbow that fits the season in your biome.

🌈 If you like, create something using the treasures you see or gather. Take a photo with your phone or use contact paper or double-sided tape on sturdy paper to make a beautiful collage, nature crown or sun catcher.

🌈 Spread the joy! Make a difference in someone's day by letting them know that you were thinking of them and that you hope these colorful treasures fill their bucket with happiness.

Are you looking to try Tinkergarten this spring? Our season here in Frankfort begins next week with classes Monday at 5:30p or Wednesday morning! Want to help? Please share this post with interested families - classes are being offered all across the country!

This spring will be a season of creativity and we will be working with breaking and bending materials! It’ll be a blast- hands on, messy and FUN! 🌻🙌🏼☀️

Did you know…

❗️Children today spend HALF the time playing outside compared to their parents. (1/15/2018 National Trust). Building the habit of time outdoors can lower a person’s stress levels, decrease the risk of disease, boost mental health and increase life expectancy.

😬 Since the pandemic, we’ve seen a 50% increase in kids’ screen time. (Axios, January 17, 2021). Now more than ever, our kids need to spend more of their day outside.

❤️ Children are increasingly worried about people damaging the planet, and the best way to prepare kids to protect the earth is to help them learn to love it.

🌳 When kids spend time outdoors, they’re more physically active and enjoy reduced anxiety, improved sleep and enhanced mood. Best of all, these benefits last a lifetime.

Spring Tinkergarten is almost here! 🌸☀️ If you’ve been thinking about joining us, it’s your last chance to enroll before the season starts!

We can't wait to get outside this spring and help explorers strengthen their natural creativity! Our spring lessons are full of joyful activities that get kids moving, exploring and building core skills along the way. And we’re going to do it all in the most creative studio of all: nature!

Act now and save 10% with code LASTCHANCE10. These special savings end on March 30th, so don’t miss it! It’s the final moment to join (and save) before classes begin. Sign up now: https://tkgtn.com/3uypV7J
