Open mat is cancelled today, and there will be no open mats next week due to Dead Week.

Beginning Monday, August 10, open mats will be held:

• Mondays
• Wednesdays
• Thursdays

The time will remain the same: 6:00–7:30 PM.

#6 Ranked Michael Carter takes on #3 Ranked John Montgomery from PA tomorrow morning at 11am!

Only 8 Remain in the Championship Bracket and Michael is one of them!

THREE STRAIGHT WINS. QUARTERFINAL BOUND. 🔥

Michael Carter gets his hand raised not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES to punch his ticket to the quarterfinals at Fargo, the most prestigious high school wrestling tournament in the nation.

Out of a 60-man bracket featuring the best wrestlers from across the country, only 8 wrestlers remain in the championship bracket, and the #6-ranked wrestler in the nation, Michael Carter, is one of them.

Tomorrow morning, Michael will face #3-ranked wrestler in the nation, John Montgomery of Pennsylvania with a spot in the national semifinals and All-American status on the line.

Another great day at the Grand River Rumble! 🦅

These four represented the Frankenmuth Wrestling program extremely well so far this week in Sandusky, Ohio!

🥇 Weston Hager captured a 1st-place championship and also stepped up to compete in the Open division against tougher competition, gaining valuable experience.

🥉 Rowen Lash battled to earn a 3rd-place finish in Freestyle, showing toughness and resilience throughout the tournament.

💪 Deklan Hager put together an outstanding weekend, finishing 8-2 overall, going 3-1 in the individual tournament and 5-1 in dual competition.

👏 We also want to recognize Robbie Lash, Rowen's dad and one of our Frankenmuth Youth Wrestling coaches. Robbie entered the Open Division against college wrestlers, won a match, and came within moments of securing a fall in the blood round to earn a place on the podium. Showing he's still got it!

The weekend isn't over yet! Weston and Rowen are both still competing in the duals, so stay tuned for more updates as they continue representing Frankenmuth Wrestling.

Where one journey ends, another is only beginning.

This week in Fargo has been a special one for Frankenmuth Wrestling.

As C**ton Whittaker closed the book on an incredible high school career competing on wrestling's biggest high school stage, Michael Carter is just beginning to write his own story. Fresh off his freshman season, Michael is already proving he belongs among the nation's best.

Michael won his opening match yesterday to advance into the 32-man championship bracket of a loaded 60-man field at the USMC Junior & 16U Nationals.

He'll be back on the mat today shortly at 4:00 PM, representing Frankenmuth against the best wrestlers in the country.

One Eagle leaves behind a legacy. Another is just beginning to build his.

What a career. What a journey.

C**ton Whittaker wrapped up his high school wrestling career at the USMC Junior & 16U Nationals in Fargo, North Dakota, finishing 1-2 against some of the best competition in the country.

Just earning the opportunity to compete in the FargoDome is an accomplishment in itself. Only the nation's top wrestlers qualify for the biggest high school wrestling tournament in the world, and C**ton battled hard against elite opponents every time he stepped on the mat.

We couldn't be more proud of the wrestler, competitor, and young man C**ton has become. He has represented Frankenmuth with class, toughness, and determination throughout his career, and his impact on our program will be felt for years to come.

The next chapter begins at Heidelberg University, where he'll continue both his academic and wrestling career.

Congratulations, C**ton! Thank you for everything you've done for Frankenmuth Wrestling. Once an Eagle, always an Eagle. Go make the Berg and the Muth proud! 🦅💪

After dropping his opening match, C**ton responded with a dominant 13-2 technical fall over Jordan Marrow of Hawaii, improving to 1-1 on the day at the U.S. Marine Corps Junior Nationals in Fargo.
