Gentle reminder:
The school will close at 3:00 on Thursday, June 11th. Children that are NOT graduating to kindergarten need to be picked up by 3:00 that day. Late fee's will begin at 3:00

The Tiger and Bear rooms finished up their unit on growing and changing. They created frames for their self-portraits as they discussed how they grew through the year and learned so much! They discussed how their friendships were made and how they learned to work together, sharing and taking turns. They observed how the weather changed from last week and how they think it may change over the weekend. They reviewed all the skills they learned, writing, reading, math and science. They used clay to create “critters” and in dramatic play reviewed how to take care of babies and each other! They learned the definition of goloshes, nestled and perch. Ask us what they mean! They celebrated Ayla’s birthday on Thursday and enjoyed time outdoors. They also practiced their graduation ceremony! So exciting! Have a wonderful weekend! The monkey and panda rooms finished up their unit on growing and changing. Reading “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” and talking about our butterflies and how the life cycle formed them from caterpillars. They talked about pets that we had at home. Some have cats, some have dogs. They reviewed parts of plants and flowers and talked about how they grew and learned so much over the year! They enjoyed time on the playground and watched graduation practice! Some of the pandas are graduating to kindergarten this year. We will miss them! The panda room also celebrated Theo's birthday! This week all rooms worked on creating self portraits and made observations of how they think they have changed since the start of the school year. Next they observed plants to see the changes as the plants grow. They had discussions on the weather and the changes nature makes through the year. We talked about the words huddle, solitary and flexible and practiced our writing, letter, number, shape and color recognition. We all took turns sharing materials and practiced sequencing in science and math. We all enjoyed outdoor time in the fresh air and sunshine. The Tiger, Bear and some of the Panda's started practicing our Graduation! It's coming soon! Have a great weekend! Can you believe the last month of our school year is here! What a great year it has been!

During the last week of school, we are inviting anyone who would like to come and read a story to their child's class to join us during designated times. A sign up is on the parent board in the hallway of the office. Please put your Childs name and who will be coming to read next to the time you choose.

Reminder if your child IS NOT graduating to kindergarten this year you must pick your child up by 3:00 on Thursday June 11th Late fees will apply after 3:00 that day.

If your child IS GRADUATING Please make yourself comfortable on the seats that will be outside the front door for our ceremony beginning at 4:00 P.M. Such an exciting time!

Tigers and Bear room: Created self-portraits at the art easel, nature arrangements in the art studio and terrariums in the discovery center, worked on patterns, puzzles and sequencing. They talked about the definitions of words like healthy hum and hawk. Ask us what they mean. As they read stories, they predicted what would come next in the story and discussed what had already happened. The classes practiced their writing, letters, numbers, shape and color recognition and enjoyed time outside in the fresh air, riding bikes, playing games and exploring nature. If you haven't brought in or signed sunscreen for your child, please do so next week. Reminder that we are closed Monday in observance of Memorial Day! Have a great long weekend! See you on Tuesday! The Panda and Monkey rooms had a great week learning about their bodies and how to be safe. How to share and take turns without tears and use nice words. They used materials they collected from nature to make collages and forests. Each classroom took turns discussing how to take care of their plants and they observed and watered plants in the classroom and outdoors. The classes enjoyed time in the fresh air and sunshine drawing with chalk, playing bubbles, riding bikes and playing group games. Reminder that we are closed on Monday for Memorial Day. Directors corner:
Next week is supposed to be very warm and sunny. If you have not brought sunscreen in for your child or signed the form, we strongly suggest you bring sunscreen and sign the form early in the week. Please remember we cannot apply the sunscreen unless the form has been signed. See your child's teacher for the form. Thank you!
