Raising a deaf or hard of hearing child comes with questions β€” and you do not have to navigate the journey alone. Through the Badavas Parent Infant Program, families of deaf and hard of hearing children receive support, resources, playgroups, and guidance focused on ASL, communication access, and early learning. πŸ’™

Did You Know? ... All staff interpreters in the TLC Interpreting Department are EIPA-qualified in the state of Massachusetts. This means that each staff interpreter has met the state’s qualification requirements and is approved to work independently in the classroom. πŸ“š

This milestone reflects our team’s dedication to maintaining high professional standards and ensuring that students have access to qualified interpreting support in their educational environments. Achieving EIPA qualification requires significant skill, preparation, and commitment, and we are proud of the effort our interpreters have invested in reaching this goal. 🌟

Spotlight on: Our fabulous Transition Department! πŸ’« We empower our high school students with real-world internship experiences that build transferable skills and confidence.

One great example is our current internship with TrUe Salon in Framingham βœ‚.

Evan wanted to explore a career in hair styling, and TLC quickly found a friend in TrUe! Evan has the opportunity to experience hands-on learning, gaining knowledge and tools needed for life after graduation. We appreciate trUe Salon for supporting our internship program and giving students the opportunity to build skills and confidence in a professional setting.
