This documentary was directed by Carey M. Ballard and produced by the AEC ASL Education Center (ASL Education Center). Please note that our Travel Abroad Program is hosting a spaghetti dinner prior to the screening. See the comments or separate post for details.

Unmasking Deaf Education Documentary

Community Event! đŸŽ„ Join us on Friday, October 24, for a special screening of 'Unmasking Deaf Education' at TLC Schwab Athletic Center.

Film Director Carey Ballard said: "Because sign language is crucial, the story had to come from the community itself, as we interviewed many Deaf and hearing parents, leaders, teachers, professionals, and community members who shared their experiences about what Deaf really means and how the education system prevents Deaf people from thriving fully in their own rights." Ballard worked with ASL Education Center on this film.
