How many times have we quietly wondered if we’ve exhausted God’s patience?

But in the wilderness, Hagar encountered a God unlike the One her fears had imagined. She called Him El Roi—the God who sees me. The God who sees, who welcomes, and who never grows tired of hearing the voice of His children.

Perhaps the greatest comfort isn’t that God immediately changes our wilderness, but that He meets us there. Before He changes our circumstances, He reminds us that we have never been unseen, unwanted, or unwelcome.

It’s on us.
Every day, we pass people carrying burdens we know nothing about.

Some are fighting battles in silence.
Some are running on empty.
Some are one kind word away from hope.

The truth is, life has a way of keeping us busy.
Busy chasing goals.
Busy carrying responsibilities.
Busy running our own race.

But may we never become so focused on where we’re going that we fail to notice those who are struggling along the way.

Because love is not measured by what we say.
It’s measured by what we do when someone else’s pain crosses our path.

The phone call.
The text message.
The prayer.
The decision to stop when everyone else keeps moving.

Because sometimes, the answer to someone’s prayer isn’t found in a miracle. It’s found in a person who cared enough to notice.

A person who cared enough to stop.
A person who cared enough to help carry the burden.

It’s on us.

The Reason I Didn’t Collapse

There are seasons in life that change you forever.

Seasons where the weight is heavier than anyone realizes.
Where you smile in public but quietly wrestle in private.
Where your faith is being tested, your strength is running low, and your heart is carrying more than words can explain.

This reflection is not just about survival. It is about the people God strategically places around us during our Adullam seasons.

Just as David was surrounded in the cave by people who would become part of his journey, many of us can look back and recognize that God never left us alone. He sent encouragers. He sent intercessors. He sent friends. He sent helpers. He sent people who stood beside us when we did not have the strength to stand by ourselves.

Sometimes we pray for a miracle, not realizing the miracle has already arrived in the form of a person.

Someone who checked on us.
Someone who prayed for us.
Someone who believed in us when we had stopped believing in ourselves.
Someone who quietly carried part of the weight until we could breathe again.

This reflection is a reminder that healing is often communal, strength is often borrowed before it is rebuilt, and God’s provision is not always seen in what He gives us—but in who He sends to us.

This reflection sat with me longer than I expected. As I watched this simple moment unfold, I found myself thinking about seasons of my own life that felt heavier than I could explain.

The kind of seasons where you’re doing your best to keep moving forward, but secretly wondering why everything feels so difficult.

What touched me most about this reflection is the reminder that not every heavy season is a sign that something is wrong.

Sometimes growth has weight.
Sometimes preparation has weight.
Sometimes the very thing you’re praying for requires God to develop something in you first.

And maybe that’s why this reflection healed something in me. Because it reminded me that God’s presence is not always found in removing the challenge. Sometimes His presence is found in sustaining us through it.

It requires trusting Him enough to loosen our grip on what we’ve known…so He can lead us into something healthier, freer, and whole.
