The brown stairs and the pink tower are two hallmarks of a Montessori classroom. Students have fun while learning about visual discrimination of dimension and refining voluntary movement and muscular grip.✋🏼

Montessori Materials are mathematically precise in their gradations:
Pink Tower: The cube goes from 1cm squared to 10cm.
Brown stairs: The length remains the same, while the depth grows from 1cm to 10cm.

After the material is formally presented by the teacher, children in a Montessori classroom are free to discover the material in an appropriate and beneficial way. Photographed last, two students created an extension of the brown stairs and the pink tower by combining the materials to make a “helicopter”! 🚁

What is the importance of an uninterrupted work cycle? ✨

During their uninterrupted work cycle, a child tries new things and develops new skills through repetition. It is essential to know that for children, the goal of repetition is not to recreate. Not long ago, our graduates first entered our classroom as eager novices, learning through wonder, exploration, and discovery. Throughout their time here, we watched them step into the role of mentors, leading with kindness, confidence, and independence as they guided younger friends along the same path!

It has been a joy and privilege to walk beside them in their educational journey, witnessing the growth of their minds, hearts, and spirits. We are deeply grateful to have been a part of these foundational years and cannot wait to see who they continue to become. 💛

Congratulations to the GRADUATING CLASS OF 2026!!! 🎓🩷

It's time to say goodbye……. and none of these goodbyes are easy. Each one of these children has found a special place in our hearts and will always remain there for years to come. We will never forget you and we wish you the best! . . . and happy 20th graduation anniversary to Hannah and Vishaan, our upstairs assistant teachers who graduated in 2006!!

As the school year ends, our hearts are filled with gratitude. 🩷

The strength of our community and the wholehearted dedication to making our school a joyful, nurturing place of learning for our children have made this year truly special. Thank you to each one of you who has contributed in ways both big and small, and for supporting our work in countless ways as we strive to do what we know is best for the children in our care.
