🌾 Ag Ed Alumni Spotlight: Kasey Ti**le Sims 🌾

Kasey Ti**le Sims serves at Rural Special School District, where she teaches CASE Animal Science, CASE AFNR, Ag Mechanics, Ag Structures, and Career Development, serving 69 students and 45 FFA members.

Her students are highly active across a wide range of FFA opportunities, including livestock showing, leadership events, career development events, and multiple CDE areas such as Horse Evaluation, Poultry Evaluation, Livestock Judging, Vet Science, and Agricultural Communications.

Kasey’s agricultural education journey is deeply rooted in family and mentorship, shaped by her upbringing on a farm and guided by influential mentors throughout her education and career.

One of her favorite aspects of teaching is watching long-term relationships grow with students and families—seeing former students return years later as successful professionals and leaders in agriculture.

If you have 4-H members showing this summer/fall, you need to look over these health requirements for your animals. All market animals will be required to have 840 tags preferably EID tags. The breeder who sold you your animal should provide those. If not, you also order those yourself through the Arkansas Livestock and Poultry Commission of the AR Department of Ag.

Headed to a fair or livestock show this season? Make sure your animals meet Arkansas’ exhibition health requirements before you go!

Many species need current CVIs, some require negative tests within 30–90 days, and animals showing signs of contagious disease won’t be allowed to exhibit. Requirements also vary by species, including horses, cattle, poultry, sheep and goats, swine, and more. Plan ahead, check the rules early, and help keep Arkansas agriculture healthy.

Our FFA Chapter is proud of two of our members for attending the Ozarka Welding Program at the Mountain View Trade Center and gaining their welding certificate!
