My husband and I moved here in 2000 with our then three year-old son, Gage. We added two beautiful daughters, Willow and Ava. Paul and I strived to give our children the best education possible by assisting teachers and staff in the classroom. I spent many hours working in classrooms and volunteering my time. Outside of the classrooms we encourage community participation and support for our school
s. Much of my background is in healthcare management and I feel this experience is quite valuable to the school board. I feel the knowledge I have can benefit the school system as we navigate through a time with concerns of safety for our staff, students, and community. I also have a BS in Social Sciences with a dual major in psychology and sociology from Grand Valley State University. My degree has enabled me to better understand individuals and youth in all walks of life. My college degree taught me to work with people from various backgrounds and ethnicities in society. I have always been concerned for the welfare of others and have given my time, and that of my family, to better the youth and their experiences living in Fowlerville. I have held many positions within the community over the years, such as: MYF leader and Sunday School teacher at the First United Methodist Church, 4-H Leader for Westside Misfits, PTC member and organizer, KPTN President, and Cheerleading coach. My family's reputation in the community is one of experience, integrity, and productive leadership. Over the years friends, acquaintances, and family have suggested I run for this position. As many of you may already know, we lost our daughter, Willow, to a drunk driver this past March. The community has wrapped their arms around us in love and support. I hope to bring a louder voice to the school board from the education staff, students, and community. I am a hands on type of person willing to go the extra mile to gather information. I am focused and ready to help make educated decisions for the Fowlerville Community School System.
